LEAN Sheet Metal Storage and Johnson Thermal Systems: A Partnership Powering Efficiency in Nampa, Idaho

At Lean Manufacturing Products, we are thrilled to share a significant milestone in our journey: our partnership with Johnson ThermalSystems (JTS) to supply four advanced sheet metal storage systems for their new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Nampa, Idaho. The grand opening of JTS’s Nampa 1 facility on June 17, 2025, marked a pivotal moment for both our companies and the community. In this post, we’ll dive into JTS’s inspiring background, the innovative work they do, the importance of their new facility, and how our collaboration has enhanced their operations.
About Johnson Thermal Systems

When we first connected with Johnson Thermal Systems, we were impressed by their dedication to American manufacturing and their innovative approach to solving complex challenges. Based in Caldwell, Idaho, and a subsidiary of Mission Critical Group (MCG), JTS is a leader in powerpackaging, power distribution, and commercial and industrial refrigeration. They design and produce custom-engineered solutions, including generator enclosures, control room systems, and refrigeration units, for critical sectors like data centers, hospitals, and memory-chip manufacturing facilities.
JTS’s commitment to quality and tailored solutions resonates deeply with our values at Lean Manufacturing Products. Operating from facilities in Caldwell, Idaho, and Abilene, Texas, JTS has built a reputation for reliability and innovation. The opening of their new Nampa 1 facility represents a bold step in their growth, and we were excited to play a role in supporting their vision.
The Nampa 1 Facility: A Leap Forward
The grand opening of JTS’s 172,000-square-foot Nampa 1 facility was a moment of pride for us as partners. Located in Adler Industrial’s Midland Industrial Park, this $55 million plant is a testament to JTS’s ambition and commitment to lean manufacturing principles. Designed to double their production capacity, the facility is purpose-built to manufacture large-scale generator enclosures—some measuring up to 14 feet wide, 14 feet tall, and 65 feet long—for critical infrastructure like data centers and healthcare facilities.
We were inspired by the facility’s advanced technology, including AI-powered systems for painting, material handling, and environmental controls, which enhance both productivity and sustainability. Completed in just over a year and under budget, the project created 140 new jobs for the Nampa community. Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling captured the impact perfectly, stating,
“This investment brings 140 quality jobs to our city and strengthens our local economy.”
As a company, we felt honored to contribute to such a transformative project.
Our Partnership with JTS
At Lean Manufacturing Products, we are passionate about helping manufacturers optimize their operations through innovative storage and material handling solutions. Our sheet metal storage systems, such as the Safety Block Storage System and Re-Rack cartridges, are designed to streamline workflows, reduce material damage, and maximize shop floor space. When JTS approached us to support their Nampa 1 facility, we saw an opportunity to align our expertise with their commitment to lean principles—sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain.
We collaborated closely with JTS to provide four customized sheet metal storage systems tailored to their modular construction process. These systems enable JTS operators to organize and access sheet metal stock efficiently, loading materials into laser cutting systems in seconds. By integrating our solutions, we’ve helped JTS consolidate inventory, optimize material flow, and create a safer, more organized workspace. This partnership has empowered JTS to meet the growing demand for their power solutions, particularly as data center construction surges with the rise of AI and cloud-based technologies.
The Impact and Our Pride
Partnering with JTS for the Nampa 1 facility has been a highlight for us at Lean Manufacturing Products. Our sheet metal storage systems have enhanced JTS’s operational efficiency, ensuring they can deliver critical power solutions to industries that rely on them. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and we’re proud to have set a new standard for efficiency in Idaho’s industrial sector.
The impact extends beyond the factory floor. The Nampa 1 facility has brought 140 new jobs and a significant economic boost to the community, aligning with our values of creating lasting value. As Jeff Drees, CEO of Mission Critical Group, said,
“The new Nampa facility is more than an expansion—it’s a milestone in our mission to shape the future of American manufacturing.”
We share that vision and are proud to be part of it.
Looking to the Future
Our partnership with JTS is just the beginning. As they continue to grow and meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market, we’re excited about the potential for further collaboration. At Lean Manufacturing Products, we’re committed to innovating and supporting manufacturers like JTS in achieving operational excellence. The success of Nampa 1 inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in lean manufacturing.
